NAMM 2014: iZotope & BT Release BreakTweaker Beat Sequencer

iZotope and BT have revealed their latest software collaboration, BreakTweaker, a drum sculpting and beat sequencing plug-in compatible with any DAW and accompanying MIDI controller. Using its three modules: the Sequencer, the Generator and a MicroEdit Engine, BreakTweaker aims to forgo the trappings of traditional drum machines by redefining how users think about rhythm and pitch.

Users begin by sculpting drum sounds with the Generator and then program their rhythms using the Sequencer module. Each step within the programmed sequence can be reduced into thousands of slices for pitch, rhythm and texture editing at a “molecular” level.

In addition to allowing users to craft their own drum sounds, BreakTweaker comes packaged with 2GB of royalty-free presets, drum samples and wavetables. An expanded edition comes bundled with three expansions from Beatport Sounds.
